LAHORE, July 10: A child was killed and five other people were injured in three road accidents in the city on Tuesday.

Islampura police said Muhammad Hinnan was killed after being hit by a Civil Secretariat bus in Sanatnagar. The child was playing in rainwater outside his home at the time of the accident.

Area people overpowered the driver and handed him over to the police.

Rescue 1122 said Naeem Abbas, 18, Waseem Abbas, 21, and Rashid, 18, sustained injuries and were shifted to Services Hospital after their motorcycle collided with a bus on Canal Road in front of Sky Land Park.

Meanwhile, Nadeem and Ali were injured when a police vehicle driven by Azhar hit the wall of a house in Survey Colony in Garhi Shahu.

Azhar of Garhi Shahu police station was patrolling the area when he lost control over the vehicle and damaged the wall, injuring two residents.

INJURED: Five people were injured in two separate structural collapse incidents here on Tuesday.

Three persons were injured when the roof of a house collapsed at Sodiwal Stop on Multan Road.

Khwaja Saleem and two other family members were trapped inside the debris. They were shifted to a nearby hospital.

The stairs of an under-construction building collapsed in Farrukhabad main bazaar in Shahdara, leaving two labourers injured.

One of the injured was provided first aid while the other was admitted to Mayo Hospital.

FIRE: Valuables were reduced to ashes in three fire incidents in the city on Tuesday.

A fire broke out in the house of Syed Abul Rehman near Bus Stop No 3 in Sanda, burning down valuables worth Rs300,000.

Another fire broke out in the house of Babar following a short circuit at Chota Sanda School Stop, gutting valuables worth Rs40,000.

A portion of the egineering company of Aslam Khan caught fire in Sher Shah Block of Barkat Market due to a short circuit.
