KARACHI, July 11: Lasers had a great day in the Women Cricket Triangular T20 Tournament 2012 at the Southend Club here on Wednesday.

Lasers, captained by Bismah Maroof, were to play two games, one against Strikers and the other against Knights, and they won both.

In the first match, Lasers beat Strikers by 37 runs. Batting first, Lasers made 89 for five in the 20 overs. Marriam Hasan made 36, Qanita Jalil 28 and Sidra Amin remained not out on 21. Asmavia Iqbal bagged three for 27.

In reply, the Strikers could only make 53 for eight with Batool Fatima remaining not out on 30. Summaiya Siddique captured three for five, Zainab Khan two for four and Mariam Shah two for 15.

Summaiya was declared the Player-of-the-Match.

In the second match, the Lasers beat Knights by two wickets.

Knights, who batted first, scored 84 for eight. Rabia Shah made 24, Nahida Bibi 13 and Javeria Wadood 10. Bismah Maroof took three wickets for 11 runs.

In reply, the Lasers were able to reach their target in 18 overs.

Qanita Jalil made 29 and Bismah Maroof 13. For the Knights, Javeria Rauf took three for eight and Kanwal Naz two for 18.
