KARACHI, July 14: Fahim Bhutto earned a spot in the men’s singles main draw, registering a straight 6-2, 6-2 victory over Wasif in the qualifiers of the SSB Development Series ranking tennis championship at Union Club on Saturday.

The winner of Hasnain Haider and Shayan Mushahid will join Fahim in the eight-man draw.

Results: Men’s singles: Qualifying round one: Mahmood bt Shahan Reki 6-2, 6-2; Fahim Bhutto bt Wasif 6-2, 6-2.

First round: Hassan Siddiqui bt Sufyan Shiwani 6-0, 6-3.

Juniors’ under-17 singles: First round: Hassan Siddiqui bt Syed Saad Ahmed 6-0, 6-1; Nazif Ahmed bt Saad Ali (walkover); Hasnain Haider bt Shayan Mushahid 6-0, 6-1.

Boys and girls under-15 singles: First round: Hania Naveed bt Khizer Imran 8-7; Marib Malik bt Ibrahim Zafar 8-1.

Boys and girls under-13 singles: First round: Hania Naveed bt Zubair Raja 8-4; Shabbir Mohammed bt Waqas Bhutto 8-1.

Boys’ under-11 singles: Abde Ali bt Rida Khan 8-2.

Sunday’s fixtures: Matches start at 9:30am.
