LAHORE, July 15: District Coordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal suspended on Sunday three administration officials of Sunday bazaars from service for showing negligence.

The DCO visited Shadman, Islampura and Begumkot Sunday bazaars and suspended market committee sub-inspector Ijaz Ahmad, deputy town officer (Data Ganj Bakhsh Town) Muhammad Yawar and traffic controller Shahid Hussain.

He also directed to constitute steering committees to monitor arrangements of Sunday as well as Ramazan bazaars. The DCO expressed his displeasure over the sale of substandard fruits/vegetables and other commodities in Sunday bazaars and ordered the administration to ensure the availability of quality commodities.

He inspected various stalls and also took feedback from customers on the availability of commodities, prices and general arrangements.

Taking notice of complaints relating to massive increase in prices ahead of Ramazan, the DCO directed the officials concerned to either control prices of commodities or resign from their jobs.

He directed the officers to pay special attention to the quality of fruits and vegetables in Sunday bazaars.

SHEESHA: The CDGL’s environment wing sealed on Sunday two sheesha cafes and confiscated 14 sheesha huqas (smoking pipes).

The officials raided the Rock Star Café and Yari Café at Gulshan Ravi and sealed both of them.
