KARACHI, July 16: An unbeaten century by talented left-hander Saud Shakeel helped Zone-VI successfully defend their PCB Regional Inter-district Under-19 cricket title with a 104-run victory over Zone-IV at the Pak Star Ground here the other day.
Saud struck 102 from 143 balls with the aid of 13 boundaries as Zone-VI declared their second innings at 226-4.
Zone-IV, who had conceded a narrow first-innings lead of 16 runs, were then dismissed for 138 after set a target of 243. Slow left-armer Bilal Manzoor grabbed four wickets for 37 to follow up his 5-23 in the first innings. He finished with a match haul of nine for 60.
Zone-VI, who clinched their third straight crown, collected 36 points from five matches.
