LAHORE, July 16: The national selection committee headed by Iqbal Qasim held on Monday a meeting here to ponder team selection for the series of three One-day Internationals and as many Twenty20 games against Australia late next month.

The said limited-overs series will be held at neutral venues of the United Arab Emirates from Aug 28.

Iqbal said some initial discussion was held over the matters relating to selection, adding at present he was not in a position to say when the team would be announced officially.

However, sources told Dawn that all-rounder Abdul Razzaq and belligerent opener Imran Nazir along with veteran wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal are likely to stage a comeback in international cricket. Imran and Razzaq are expected to be picked for the Twenty20s while Kamran for both the formats.
