ISLAMABAD: At least eight people were killed and several others injured when a bus plunged into a deep ravine in Kahuta’s suburban area of Punjar on Tuesday morning.

According to reports, the bus was carrying at least 50 people and the accident occurred due to over speeding.

However, the eye-witnesses said that the accident took place due to failure of the brakes and overloading of the passengers.

The bus was on route to Kahuta from the city of Rawalpindi. The injured and bodies were being shifted to Kahuta Tehsil Hospital.

Soon after the incident the locals along with rescue teams started the rescue efforts to shift the dead bodies and injured to hospital.

Pakistan the only country where lives are cheap therefore nobody cares how much lives are wasted each day.strange but true...Alas!therefore no body cares for any of the principles

Tragic. When will our drivers learn the simple lesson that saving a few seconds by over speeding risks lives, including that of the driver's own.

This should be taken seriously as every other month we hear such news. Many times i have seen such bus drivers carrying loads of people and driving like fools ! This needs to be addressed properly . Killing innocent people .
