NOWSHERA, July 18: The beheaded body of an unidentified man was found in the forest of Akbarpura area here on Wednesday.

Officials said that villagers informed the police that a beheaded body was lying in the forest near the village.

The police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to the Mian Rashid Hussain Shaheed Memorial Hospital Pabbi where doctors said after performing autopsy that the victim, aged about 24 years, was slaughtered after severe torture. Akbarpura police have registered a case and buried the body as unidentified.

Meanwhile, the Risalpur police arrested an accused of Hoti area of Mardan, who had allegedly killed an 18-year-old man after snatching Rs15,000 from him. Sources said Fayaz was arrested during a raid on a gambling den in Nowshera.—Correspondent
