KHAR, July 19: Three bullet-riddled bodies were found in different areas of Bajaur tribal region on Thursday, sources said.

Two bodies were found in the border area of tehsil Salarzai.

“The bodies of two tribesmen were found early in the morning in the fields,” Ajab Gul, a resident of the area, told Dawn.

He said the bodies were riddled with bullets. Signs of torture were also visible on the bodies, he added.

An official said that a team of Levies personnel rushed to the site of occurrence and shifted the bodies to Khar. The deceased were identified as 30-year-old Misbahud Din and 33-year-old Hidayatullah.

“Both the deceased belonged to Sharif Khana area of Nawagai tehsil,” the official said, adding the bodies were handed over to their relatives for burial.

Family sources said that both the deceased were missing for the last few days. They said that they had no enmity with anyone.

Also, body of an unidentified man was found in Faja area of Khar. The body of a man, who seemed to be of 27 years, was found near the bank of a canal, the official said.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the killings.
