ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said on Friday that next general elections would take place in time, DawnNews reported.

The prime minister said that the cooperation of the coalition partners was needed to overcome country’s challenges.

Awami National Party’s (ANP) delegation, led by Senator Zahid Hussain, held a meeting with the prime minister in Islamabad.

The ANP delegation demanded that elections should conduced in time.

The delegation discussed overall situation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province especially on the issue of the profits from the power sector.

The prime minister reassured the ANP leaders that a committee headed by the president and comprising of himself, the finance minister and ANP’s Haji Adeel would look into the issue.

The meeting also had a consensus over the initiation of the projects of Malakand tunnel and Dasu dam.
