LAHORE, July 20: The Executive Committee of Lahore Region Cricket Association (LRCA) on Friday suspended its secretary Mian Javed Ali, alleging gross violation of the constitution.

Mian Javed, however, has rejected all the allegations and put some counter allegations on LRCA president Khawaja Nadeem. The executive committee met here on Friday and according to a spokesman, 13 members out of a total of 21 attended it to unanimously decide on Javed’s suspension.

“Javed has violated LRCA constitution as his conduct is derogatory and repugnant to the aims and objects of the Association and he has failed to abide by the instructions of the Association,” the spokesman said.

“The house found Javed guilty of negligence, disobedience, using undesirable language in TV interviews, sending unauthorised letters, misuse of powers and misconduct in so many matters,” said the spokesman.

When contacted, Mian Javed said first of all the executive committee meeting was illegal since only secretary had the power to convene it.

He termed the suspension as illegal and unconstitutional.

Javed said tha LRCA president Khawaja Nadeem started a move against him after he (Javed) had asked for accountability. “If raising my voice against such gross violation of the constitution is unconstitutional, then I will do it again and again,” Javed said.—Sports Reporter
