LAHORE, July 20: The City District Government of Lahore and other departments have taken certain measures for the holy month of Ramazan.

The CDGL has set up 25 Ramazan bazaars in nine towns of the city. These bazaars have been set up in Model Town, Makkah Colony, Barkat Market, Wahdat Colony, Gulshan-i-Ravi, Moon Market, Jallo Morr, Township, Nishat Colony, Kahna Nau, Islampura, Shadman, Karim Park, Ghaziabad, Harbanspura, Begum Kot, Delhi Gate, Elahi Bakhsh Road, Johar Town, Sabzazar, Thokar Niaz Beg, Shalamar Chowk and Shadbagh. Besides, the CDGL has set up more than 200 dastar khwans and 1,000 fair price shops in the city.

MONITORING: The CDGL has formed monitoring teams led by 93 special price magistrates to control commodity prices during the month.

These teams would be checked by a special task force formed by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal.

VISITS: Dozens of officers of all CDGL departments have been assigned duties to regularly pay visits to Ramazan bazaars and monitor the working of price control magistrates. Additional District Collector (General) Musarrat Jabeen has been declared focal person of CDGL’s Ramazan operation.
