KARACHI, July 21: Qasmi Sports defeated Dollar East by 27 runs in the opening game of the second State Life Trophy Vital Five T20 Ramazan Cricket Festival at the Vital Five Ground here on Saturday.

Batting first, Qasmi Sports reached 160-9 with opener Ashraf Ali, who was later adjudged Man-of-the-Match, striking 56 off 33 balls with six boundaries and three sixes. Shahzad Ali hit 31.

Spinners Azam Hussain and Taha Mamsa each claimed three wickets apiece.

Dollar East, in reply, were dismissed for 127 in the 18th over with Owais Pasta blasting three sixes and as many fours in scoring a 30-ball 45.

Paceman Talha Fahim did the early damage with three wickets before spinners Abid Qasmi and Javed Kohistani also grabbed three wickets each in a clinical bowling performance.
