KALAYA, July 22: Fighter jets bombed suspected militant hideouts in Dabori area of Orakzai Agency on Sunday, killing 15 militants and injuring eight others.

According to officials, six hideouts were destroyed.

Local people said the bombing continued for two hours and militant positions in Dabori Bazaar, Zekhtoon and Gandi Tall in the upper tehsil of the tribal agency were targeted.

However, the toll could not be verified from independent sources.

Security personnel also conducted a search operation in Arkhung, Essa Khan Kali and Gall areas and seized explosives and heavy weapons.

The authorities have claimed that over 90 per cent area of Orakzai Agency has been cleared of militants. However, they still have a presence in Dabori, their local headquarters in Orakzai Agency, and some other areas.
