KARACHI, July 23: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) on Monday announced the results of the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) part-II science group annual examination-2012.

Muhammad Kashif of the Eden Public School clinched the first position by securing 811 out of the total of 850 marks. The second position was shared by Mairaj Khalid Khan of the F.F. Public School and Sana Khan of the Karachi Public School with 805 marks each.

The third position was claimed by Mehjabeen Qasim of the Shaheen Public School with 803 marks.

According to the statistics, 128,361 candidates appeared in the examination and 90,996 passed it. The pass percentage stood at 70.89.

According to a breakup, 14,300 candidates secured the ‘A-1’ grade, 23,967 the ‘A’ grade, 26,429 the ‘B’ grade, 19,443 the ‘C’ grade, 6,460 candidates the ‘D’ grade and 93 candidates passed the exam in the ‘E’ grade.

A BSEK announcement said that the marks statements would be ready within the next 20 days. It said that the marks statements of the regular candidates would be handed over to the authorised representatives of their respective institutions while those of the private candidates would be dispatched to their given addresses.—APP
