ISLAMABAD, July 25: Five persons were killed in separate incidents in different parts of the capital on Wednesday.

In the first incident, three persons drowned in Soan Nullah, near Kak Bridge, while on a swimming outing.

The police said that two persons Atta Mohammad, 25 and Sikandar Khan, 22, a labourer by profession, came to Soan Nullah near Kak Bridge for a swim. Later, they lost balance and drowned.

Their shouting for help got the attention of onlookers and other people swimming in the vicinity, who tried to rescue them, but it was too late.

During the rescue operation, people spotted another man who was drowning at the same spot.

Later all the three persons were fished out and shifted to different hospitals for medical assistance, but they all died.

The police said that the third victim was identified as Syed Waseem, a resident of Rawalpindi.

It could not be confirmed whether Waseem drowned, while rescuing the other two persons or he too lost balance and drowned in the deep waters.

In another incident, a teenager who was missing since Tuesday afternoon was found dead at the shore of Ghandhi Nullah at Kirpa.

The victim Zeeshan Ali, 15, resident of the Dhok Farash in Kirpa, left his house on Tuesday and since then went missing.

His family and neighbours searched for his whereabouts but could not find him.

Later they approached the police and lodged a complaint about his disappearance.

Meanwhile, an aged man was killed in a road side accident in Bhara Kahu, after being hit by a motorcycle.

Nazar Mohammad, 93, a native of Murree, met the accident at Athal Chowk when he was crossing the road. As a result he fell on the road and received injuries.

Later, he was shifted to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police arrested the driver and impounded the motorcycle for further legal action.
