LAHORE, July 26: A 45-year-old man was shot dead allegedly by three people for pursuing a murder litigation in Kot Shahabuddin locality of Shahdara on Thursday.

Shahdara police said that Muhammad Ashraf was riding a car when his rival Moazzam and his accomplices Afzal and Ashfaq on their bikes approached the victim and injured him with gunshot fires. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police inquiries revealed that Ashraf was pursuing the case of his wife who had been murdered after children’s quarrel some time ago. The body was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy.

A case has been registered against the three accused.

INJURED DIES: A man in his 30s, who was found injured near Dharampura bridge on early Thursday, was pronounced dead by paramedics at Services Hospital.

Racecourse police said some witnesses spotted the man lying unconscious with a single bullet wound and alerted the police. They said that they didn’t find any valuable in the pockets of the injured.

The body was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy and a murder case was registered against unidentified assailants.

Racecourse DSP Raza Safdar Kazmi said the victim bore a single bullet wound to his neck and was received dead at hospital.

He said efforts were in progress to identify the victim and trace his family.

MURDER CASE: Shahdara police registered a murder case against five nominated and four unidentified officials of Ravi Town a day after a woman in her 70s died during an official raid against the selling of meat for offering.

Mehran Bibi, wife of Lal Din, died after she ran to avoid arrest as she was selling meat along with other women on the Ravi bridge.

Ravi Town TOR Muhammad Tariq, gang men Allah Ditta and Younas, driver Zafar and others were booked in the case.
