LAHORE, July 26: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has warned the government of a strong protest if it plans to delay the general election due in March next year.

The announcement came at the tent office of the chief minister where a large number of citizens of Raiwind as well as office-bearers and workers of the PML-N came to meet the chief minister.

Shahbaz also heard problems of the people and ordered redressal of their grievances on a priority basis.

He directed completion of the Raiwind Model Bazaar by Eid and immediate closure of an illegal private market in the area.

He sought the feasibility of constructing an underpass near Basti Aminpura and acquiring the land for a new graveyard. The chief minister ordered the construction of sports and cricket grounds to promote sports in the area.

Upon complaints of citizens, the chief minister ordered shifting of the bus stand outside Raiwind and streamlining traffic system in the city.

The Lahore Transport Company was asked to start operating air-conditioned buses in Raiwind within a week and the speedy construction of a link road from Milad Chowk to Raiwind.
