THIS is apropos of Sadia Agha’s letter ‘North Waziristan qestion’ (July 12). The writer tries to make a case for an operation in North Waziristan.

Let me take the opportunity to remind Ms Agha that while it was the poor and security-related people who were getting killed, an operation in North Waziristan would be catastrophic and bring the war to the ‘cosy drawingrooms’ that have so far encouraged bloodletting of the poor living in Pakistan’s tribal areas.
