LAHORE, July 28: An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday extended interim pre-arrest bail of three young medics nominated in a murder case registered following death of a minor patient at a public hospital during doctors’ strike for a service structure.

Judge Abdul Sattar Langah extended the bail of the accused – Dr Matloob Ahmad, Dr Usman, and Dr Hannan -- till Aug 2 and directed investigating officer to complete investigation by the next hearing.

Gawalmandi police had registered a murder case against eight doctors for allegedly killing an infant, Fahad, by pulling a drip out of his vein at the Mayo Hospital during young doctors’ strike.

Police had arrested four of them and the Lahore High Court had released them on interim bail. Later, the high court had directed the doctors to get their bail confirmed from the court of first instance (sessions court).
