NAWABSHAH, July 31: An official of Pakistan Air Force was kidnapped from National Highway near Doulatpur on Tuesday.

Flight Lieutenant Waqas Akhtar and his friend Army Captain Bilal Rasheed were going to Rawalpindi from Karachi in a car. When they reached near Doulatpur bypass, four armed men intercepted the car.

They took away Waqas Akhtar in the car but Capt Rasheed escaped and reached Doulatpur police station. He informed the police about the incident.

Later, police recovered the car from Moro, SSP Nisar Ahmed Channa of Shaheed Benazirabad district told journalist. He said that police were making efforts to recover Mr Akhtar.

Police sources said that police had cordoned off the areas in the proximity of the place of the incident and declared high alert in Nawabshah, Dadu, Naushahro Feroze and Khairpur districts.
