ISLAMABAD: Following his father’s resignation from the party the previous day, former Chief Minister Punjab Dost Mohammad Khosa has also resigned from his membership of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N), DawnNews reported.

Khosa’s resignation on Friday means that he will also be stepping down as the PML-N President for Dera Ghazi Khan. However, sources said that the former chief minister will retain his membership of the Punjab Parliament.

Khosa’s father, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa, who was also a senior adviser to Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, had resigned from his party membership earlier on Thursday over differences with the party leadership.

Dost Mohammad Khosa is mired in a scandal pertaining to the alleged kidnapping and murder of his former wife, actress Sapna.

Sapna’s father had accused the minister of kidnapping his daughter, adding that she might have been murdered.
