LARKANA, Aug 2: A suspect in a robbery case managed to escape from the Gaji Khuhawar police station late on Wednesday night.

The escapee identified as Mumtaz alias Munoo Bhutto was picked up after he was nominated in a robbery case lodged against him by a trader Rabnawaz Khuhawar.

He managed to escape while being interrogated by the SHO, said sources in police. Police went after the suspect and barged into a house of one Atta Channa at the pretext of searching for the accused. The incident annoyed members of Channa community who protested against the SHO Karam Hussain Zardari and observed a strike against him in the town on Thursday, calling for action against the official.

The SSP of Qambar-Shahdadkot Captain (retd) Azfar Mahesar said that DSP of Warah, Hamid Ali Sahito would probe the incident and hoped the suspect himself would surrender soon.
