THIS is apropos of the article ‘The disappearing poor’ by Asif Saeed Memon (July 29). This is a good analysis of the poor conditions prevailing in this part of the world. The writer concluded aptly that tackling poverty is about creating access and opportunity.
A substantial level of equality in access to education and employment opportunities is imperative for any sincere effort for poverty reduction. The media can do much good by emphasizing equal opportunities in education and employment.
