QUETTA, Aug 5: Two Karachi-bound Nato containers were attacked and torched in Ornach area of Khuzdar district on Sunday, Levies Force sources said.

The containers were returning to Karachi from Chaman after offloading Nato supplies in Kandahar when unidentified men on three motorcycles opened fire on them, forcing the drivers to abandon the vehicles and flee. The attackers then set the containers on fire.

It was the third attack in Balochistan on containers carrying supplies for Afghanistan since Pakistan reopened Nato supply routes.

A few days back, three containers carrying food supplies of Unicef for Afghanistan were torched in Dasht area of Mastung district.

A driver taking a container back to Karachi from Afghanistan was shot dead the other day in Wadh area of Khuzdar district.

EXPLOSIVES SEIZED: About 60kg of explosives and a remote control device were seized in a house in Dera Bugti on Sunday, according to the Levies Force. The house was raided on a tip off and a suspect was arrested.
