LANDI KOTAL, Aug 7: A Nato container was partially damaged in a blast in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Tuesday.

Officials said that militants planted an explosive device along Jamrud bypass road to target the Nato convoy. The device was detonated when the containers were passing through the area.

They said that a vehicle was partially damaged in the blast.  Security forces arrested two suspected militants during a raid on a house in Jamrud after the attack.

In Bara, security forces seized huge quantity of arms and ammunition during a raid on a warehouse.

Meanwhile, administration appointed Nawab Shah Afridi as line officer of Khasadar Force in Jamrud. The former line officer, Amjad Afridi, was removed by the administration after he told local journalists that only Khasadar Force was providing security to Nato vehicles. The administration served a show cause notice on Amjad Afridi for speaking on “policy matters”. — Correspondent
