Miandad given bigger role by PCB

KARACHI: Javed Miandad, Pakistan Cricket Board’s director general will now also overlook domestic and international cricket operations along with team selection.

Miandad precedes former director of domestic and international cricket operations Intikhab Alam. He will report to the chairman of PCB, Zaka Ashraf.

Previously, Miandad has coached the Pakistan team and was appointed director general by then PCB chief Ijaz Butt in 2008.

“Under the new protocol the director general will oversee the operations of the international, domestic and game development and Academies,” ESPN Cricinfo quoted a PCB official as saying.
