KARACHI, Aug 8: Dollar East sealed their place in the semi-finals of the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Trophy Silver Jubilee cricket tournament after defeating Qasmi Sports by 27 runs in the opening quarter-final here at the AKG Ground on Wednesday.

Mohammad Aslam and Shahzar Mohammad set up the victory by sharing opening partnership of 126 that helped their side pile up 199-4 in the stipulated 20 overs. Aslam looked in supreme touch as he unleashed seven fours and six sixes in his blazing 46-ball innings of 89.

Shahzar was more circumspect in making 56 from 45 balls with two boundaries.

Qasmi Sports, in reply, batted gallant but were all out for 172 in 19.1 overs. Former Test paceman and Dollar East skipper Shabbir Ahmed claimed three for 38.
