A CRY for help by Myanmar Muslims echoes throughout the world, but this cry goes unnoticed. Since AD 1050 Myanmar Muslims have been captured, tortured and killed based on their Islamic beliefs. The extremist Buddhist majority of Myanmar is determined to either drive out all Myanmar Muslims, or kill them.

Recently, these persecutions have amplified to such an extent that any dignified person, a Muslim or a non-Muslim, would agree that this insanity has to stop.

We, not only as Muslims but as humans have to take some steps to do our part. For one, a petition should be signed and presented to the UN as a show of how many people are disturbed by these ongoing events.

Most Myanmar Muslims who decide to migrate either choose Bangladesh or India as their new home. The Pakistan government should start generating funds to help these emigrants, and also request the respective countries to harbour our Muslim brothers to safety.

Another beneficial outcome of this practice would be the ‘good feeling’ between the coordinating countries as the Pakistani government would be entrusting their entire fund to a foreign government.

Just a little support can do wonders for someone in distress. Our Myanmar brothers are going through a very rough time and just knowing that there are people out there trying to help would mean the world to them.

I, therefore, implore you to do your part. Ask your friends and family to help you. Come up with new ideas and share them with others, for what you do today might change someone’s tomorrow.
