HYDERABAD, Aug 16: Activists of the Awami Tehrik took out a procession here on Thursday to condemn a “conspiracy to murder AT president Ayaz Latif Palijo and other leaders”.

The protesters marched from Haider Chowk to the press club.

Abdul Qadir Ranto, senior vice president of the AT, called upon the government to present before the media Javaid Bandah who, according to him, had “confessed to having received orders from the MQM headquarters to kill 19 political figures”.

Besides Latif Palijo, Mr Ranto said, the list included Lyari Amn Committee leader Uzair Jan Baloch, PML-N leader Marvi Memon, deputy speaker of Sindh Assembly Shehla Raza, Awami National Party leader Basheer Jan and Abdul Sattar Edhi.—Staff Correspondent
