why the rest of pakistan is not celebrating the start of ramazan with Saudi Arabia..

IN Australia For the whole of last week weather was very good and warm and sky was clear we have been seeing the end of moon for few days. So the new moon was sighted on Saturday evening in Fiji (Viti) , Australia and New Zealand. It was the great blessing of Allah so that all the different Muslim communities , sects, and Jamaats celebrated Eid ul fitr today Sunday 19th of August. We have been having very chilly winter and today the weather was nice and warm. So one can imagine how joyfully we celebrated Eid. Even Tablighi Jamaat and Ahle Hadis could not dispute about the Eid celebration because they usually create differences for their own purpose and celebrate eid on different days than the general muslim community.

If you see the moon of Shawwal how can you not celebrate Eid on 1st of Shawwal. I am 100% sure they must have seen the crescent of Shawwal before deciding on celebrating Eid today (Saturday). Eid Mubarak

Why cant we follow lunar calendar? We offer prayers by clock timings and not shadow of the stick dug in the ground. We start fasting and break fast by using our clocks. Sheer ignorance on our part.

On the hill top the moon siting could be different than on bottom of the hill. It all depends on your localities.

Afghanistan lies 3000 km ( Mecca to Kabul) to the north east of Saudi Arabia and is an hour and a half ahead of the Saudi time zone so the crescent should be visible in Saudi Arabia (and other countries to its West) before it can become visible in the east. The surface speed of earth's rotation is 1669.8 km per hour so by the time the crescent should be visible in Mecca the city of Kabul is already 2504.7 km to the east, out of the crescent sighting range for that date.

There something inherently weired the Pakistani Ruet Hilal committe as it announced EID on Monday, while the rest of the world (middle east, Europ, North America and South America, neighboring Afghanista and Iran) would have the EID on Sunday.....I guess the subcontinent may have a special moon that lags behind the global moon by 24 hours...Wake up Pakistan, in a globalized world, almost everything is synchronized and I guess you moon could do the same as well, if the Mufti's have a will of hormony with the world.....

Where is the UNITY in celebrating Eid on ONE day...all over the Country????.... Thanks to all the moulvis, mullas and muftis. At least give a chance, an opportunity to all the Muslims of Islamic State of Pakistan to celebrate Eid on ONE day...!!!. Let people call one another in various provinces and convey Eid Mubarak, re-establish their ties, contacts and relations on a day that every soul can enjoy. May Allah bless Pakistan. Eid depends on sighting of the moon.I remember as a young boy in pakistan when we use to look for the moon crescent in the evening and if sighted we would celebrate eid the next day.Now celebrating eid with the saudi or anyone else is politics.Even in London we have people celebrating eid on two different days.Majority celebrating with the saudi and then some minority a day after.So some of my relatives celebrate end up celebrating a day after because they follow their mosque.Anyway Eid mubarak to you all bros and sisters.Eid is today for us, i havent seen the moon,but i am going out to look for it and see it myself,the weather is good so lets see.

well if they sighted the moon earlier that is what we are supposed to do. This happened in Rasoolullah (Sallalahu Alahi Wasalam) time. A few sahaba were travelling and they saw some people were still fasting while they in Medina had Eid, the matter was brought infront of Nabi Kareem (S.A.W) and he said 'you need to sight the moon in your area and start and stop Ramadan accordingly. The idea of a single Eid in the whole country came about when Pakistani servicemen posted across the country needed to retrun to their home towns to celebrate Eid, supposing someone is stationed in Kashmir and he needs to return to Karachi and its Eid in Karachi and not in Kashmir so which day should he take a holiday? In actuality the sharia states its ruling as described above. Secondly, if one follows the govt edict upon moon sightings in karachi or Lahore and our neighbors (India) does the same n the Eid is announced on different days in these two countries, the people who live at the borders of these two whose villages have been split in half, which day should they celebrate Eid? the same village will be celebrating Eid on two different days!
