KARACHI, Aug 18: The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on Saturday cut short its 24-hour CNG (compressed natural gas) loadshedding period by 18 hours allowing dealers to resume business after six hours of closure.

However, it decided to keep gas supply to industries suspended till 7am on Monday (for 48 hours) as per the weekly loadshedding schedule.

The decision was taken at a meeting of senior SSGC officials who reconsidered their earlier decision that CNG stations in Sindh would observe a 24-hour closure from 9am on Saturday.

The company said that the decision regarding CNG stations was taken to provide relief to consumers ahead of Eid.
