Pakistan to start World T20 campaign with India warm-up

DUBAI: Pakistan men’s cricket team will play its first ICC World T20 Cricket Tournament warm-up match against India on September 17 while Pakistan women will play their first warm-up against hosts Sri Lanka on September 22.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Saturday announced the schedule of both men’s and women’s warm-up matches, which will be played in the lead up to the tournament, starting on September 18.

The women’s competition will begin on September 26.

The men’s competition will be staged in Colombo, Hambantota and Pallekelle while the women’s group stage will be played in Galle.

However, Colombo alone will host the warm-up matches for both men and women.

The men’s warm-up matches will be played from September 13 to 19 and women’s matches on September 22 and 23.

Men’s:

13 Sept — Ireland v Zimbabwe, Moors Cricket Ground, Colombo.

13 Sept — Sri Lanka v West Indies, NCC, Colombo.

15 Sept — Afghanistan v Sri Lanka A, Moors Cricket Ground, Colombo.

15 Sept — Australia v New Zealand, NCC, Colombo.

15 Sept — Bangladesh v Zimbabwe, Colts Cricket Ground, Colombo.

15 Sept — India v Sri Lanka, P.Sara Oval, Colombo.

17 Sept — Australia v England, NCC, Colombo.

17 Sept — Bangladesh v Ireland, Moors Cricket Ground, Colombo.

17 Sept — New Zealand v South Africa, Colts Cricket Ground, Colombo.

17 Sept — Afghanistan v West Indies, P. Sara Oval, Colombo.

17 Sept — India v Pakistan, R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

19 Sept — England v Pakistan, P. Sara Oval, Colombo.

Women’s:
22 Sept — Pakistan women v Sri Lanka women, NCC, Colombo.

22 Sept — England women v South Africa women, Moors Cricket Club, Colombo.

23 Sept — Australia women v West Indies women, Moors Cricket Club, Colombo.

23 Sept — India women v New Zealand women, NCC, Colombo.

Pre-event activities:
14 Sept — ICC Hall of Fame cocktail reception to announce inductees and also announce the ICC ODI team of the year, Taj Samudra, Crystal Upper.
