Man found strangled in home
KARACHI, Aug 19: The body of a man was found in a house in Frontier Colony, SITE, on Sunday.
Police said the victim had been strangled.
SHO of the Pirabad police station Ashfaque Baloch, quoting owner of the house Rasheed Anjum, said Mohammad Hameed had rented the house about three years back.
He was an employee of a garments factory and originally hailed from Rahim Yar Khan. His relatives and friends visited him and stayed with him off and on, but for the past three months two men had been staying at his home, said the SHO quoting the landlord.
The victim had apparently been strangled with a rope while asleep. All his valuables were missing from the house. The fleeing suspects had locked the door from outside.
Area people informed the police when a stench started coming from the house.
The police shifted the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Young man shot dead
The unidentified body of a young man was found in a graveyard in Orangi Town on Sunday.
Police said the body was found in the Paracha graveyard within the remit of the Pirabad police station. The victim had received multiple gunshots wounds in the head and chest.
Pirabad police station SHO Ashfaque Baloch said the victim was apparently kidnapped elsewhere and killed at the spot as blood and spent bullet casings were found at the crime scene.
He was shot four times, causing his instant death. He was aged between 40 and 45, the SHO added.
The police took the body to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Later the body was taken to the Edhi morgue for lack of identification.
