LAHORE: PML-N president Nawaz Sharif said Monday that the government was mocking the judiciary by delaying the implementation of the Supreme Court’s order and constantly seeking more time.

“The government had promised us that it will restore the judiciary but in fact, it wanted the court of Abdul Hameed Dogar to flourish,” he claimed.

Speaking to the media, Sharif said that if the government would have observed the law, the situation would not have reached this point.

The PML-N president added that the government has kept on insulting the decisions of the courts and those who claim of resolving the crisis in 90 days are mistaken.

Justice (retd) Shaiq Usmani also reiterated that the court will stick to its decision and the government should comply with the orders. “The directions are very clear that the government has to write a letter. It is impossible for the court to take back its decision, and the government should make accommodation.”

Sharif also stressed that his party had been labelled as a friendly opposition but their success and achievements were well beyond those of the past opposition parties.
