ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) shortlisted eight to nine names for the caretaker prime ministers on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.
Speaking to media representatives at Punjab House, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that the names which are included in the list for caretaker prime ministers are of retired judges, senior bureaucrats and lawyers.
He said that the names will be finalised unanimously with the help of opposition parties.
None of the candidates mentioned in the list is from Punjab, Khan added.
Commenting on the commission being formed over creation of new provinces, the PML-N leader said the government and its allies are not sincere in forming new provinces, adding that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is using Southern Punjab’s name to gain political mileage.
Khan alleged that billions of rupees had been spent by President Asif Ali Zardari for rigging elections by ‘purchasing’ anchors and TV channels.
Commenting on Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI), he said that the PML-N will soon publish a white paper regarding assets of PTI chief Imran Khan.
