JAISALMER: Many areas of Rajasthan, adjoining the international border, are receiving signals of Pakistani mobile companies within the range of 15-20 kms inside the Indian territory, states a report published in Times of India.

It is alleged that many smugglers and spies of Jaisalmer and Barmer use Pakistani SIM cards and give out strategic and confidential information to Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.

According to the international rules in telecom sector, mobile network of any country can go up to 500 meters of the borders of the other country. Indian authorities claim that Pakistan is violating the international law and is proving to be a security threat.

On last Tuesday a meeting of LIA (Lead Intelligence Agencies) (security and intelligence of region) was organised during which the security issue, regarding the transmission of cellular signals, was raised and discussed at length. It was proposed that strict action should be taken against the violators.

According to the sources of Times of India, Pakistan is accused of setting up over three dozen new mobile towers near the international border adjoining Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Ganganagar and Barmer in Rajasthan. The signals of these mobile towers are being transmitted into the Indian territory up to 15-20 kms, which is becoming a threat to the security for India.

Indian authorities alleged that the mobile signals of Pakistani mobile companies are getting into the Indian territory because of which many smugglers and spies are getting Pakistani SIM cards through passengers in large numbers through the Thar Express.

There is no facility of scanning passengers coming by Thar express at Munabao Railway Station which is why people are able to carry Pakistani SIM cards without being noticed.

Sources claimed that few old smugglers operating in Longewala, Ghotaru, Ramgarh area in Jaisalmer district, climb the old towers and use Pakistani SIMS to send classified information to intelligence agencies.

Indian authorities claimed to have found Pakistani SIM cards from spies arrested recently.

Sources also alleged that Pakistan has installed mobile towers opposite Rajasthan border at Khokharapar, Chacharo, Jumantar, Mubarka Fort Abbas, Mantharbanglo, Mandi Sadiikganj, Minchandabad, Bhawal Nagar, Dungabunga, Harunabad, Fakirewanar, Hasilpur, rahimyar khan, Mandi Sadi Mangal, Gabbar Kehju and Sadikabad.

The telecom companies whose mobile signals are reaching within India are Veridatel, Oasis Pak, Telenor, PKPL, Pak Pal Mobiling, U-phone, PT Soral and Hutch.

Jaisalmer Telecom Officer Yogesh Bhaskar confirmed about signals transmitted by Pakistani mobile companies reaching India and said, “It is an international matter therefore will be solved at the higher level.”

He went on to add that, “Pakistan’s mobile signals are coming on separate frequency and network therefore we do not have any technique to jam their signals. The issue has been raised in the meetings held between the BSF and Pakistani rangers.”

Jaisalmer District Collector prohibited the use of Pakistani SIM cards and has directed the concerned authorities to take strict action against the people violating this order.

District Collector and Magistrate, Suchi Tyagi, under section 144 has ordered that no person will use Pakistani SIM cards and will contact people in Pakistan in any area from where contact could be made in Pakistan using the Pakistani network.

COMMENTS

  1. Only Telenor PK, Ufone, and PAK PL belong to Pakistan

  2. Even the name of Mobile companies mentioned in the article, we dont have them in Pakistan Hutch etc.

  3. You got to be joking!!! And I don’t get signals here!!!! Sitting here in an industrialized city!!!! Where I’ supposed to be getting signals!!!

  4. So lame of the Indian government. If the signals are crossing the border, find a way to jam it. Technology exists to do such things.

  5. I live in that area of the country (Pak side). Never heard of these companies.

  6. Poor effort to fuel hate between Pakistani and Indians, ‘Times of India’.

  7. May be India could put some tall light poles along the boarder to shed some Indian light on Pakistani boarder towns, and we will call it even.

  8. I wonder how most of these signals are recieved on the indian borders, for me most of these companies names are new because these companies are not here in pakistan.

  9. Never heard of these telecom companies in Pakistan. It’s a Times of India news report. For a moment I thought I was reading one of those Urdu dailies that come up with stories like these.

  10. Today is Pakistani Telecom to blame, tomorrow what?

  11. Sometimes I think India is as paranoid as Pakistan.

  12. What about the Indian signals going to Pakistan, did we blame India?

    • Its only the Pakistanis who create trouble. Indians don’t. That’s why we complain and you don’t.

    • HAHAHAHA as usual pakistani u also didnt have technical knowledge as written in only 500 meters signals are allowed means there are signal transrelaters from where we can control the mobile signals distance upto wht km they go so Indian companies control there signals and not by Pakistani companies

  13. If people are climbing up poles and towers to send signals, why do the Indians not arrest them? And ithey were able to listen to Mumbai attackers calls, why can’t they do same with all these smugglers and terrorists? And never heard of some of these companies, must be operating in the desert!!!

  14. Did they receive signal on chand raat? I am sure they did in India…

  15. It is shocking that India does not do it’s homework before blaming Pakistan for anything that goes wrong in that country.Admitted that some like the Delhi Parliament or Bombay attack had roots in Pakistan, but for the others like this one where some telecommunication companies do not even exist in Pakistan or texting the racial problems in India. Proof must be proved.India should not blame others for it’s incompetence.

  16. I’ve never heard of Oasis Pak, PKPL, Pak Pal Mobiling or PT Soral, are these companies made up?

  17. “The telecom companies whose mobile signals are reaching within India are Veridatel, Oasis Pak, Telenor, PKPL, Pak Pal Mobiling, U-phone, PT Soral and Hutch.” Out of these 8 companies, only 2 are mobile operators in Pakistan. The rest dont exist in Pakistan. Maybe India is receiving these signals from Afghanistan or Russia or EU or maybe the USA.

  18. Don’t Indians have anything else to do except complain about Pakistan ?

  19. “Veridatel, Oasis Pak, Telenor, PKPL, Pak Pal Mobiling, U-phone, PT Soral and Hutch” can any body tell whether these company are operating in Pakistan except telenor…..lols

  20. They need to ask Rehman Malik how to block signals.

  21. The telecom companies whose mobile signals are reaching within India are Veridatel, Oasis Pak, Telenor, PKPL, Pak Pal Mobiling, U-phone, PT Soral and Hutch

I dont know about others, but I havent ever received any signals of more than half of the companies mentiond here in any of the major cities in Pakistan

  22. “within India are Veridatel, Oasis Pak, Telenor, PKPL, Pak Pal Mobiling, U-phone, PT Soral and Hutch.”

I dont know about others, but I havent ever got any signals in Pakistan of more than half of these companies in any of the big cities of Pakistan
