The Wachowski Siblings Andy and Lana have set out to make what is inarguably the most ambitious film of 2012.
Based on the book Cloud Atlas , they’ve put together a star cast that includes Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Hugh Grant.
The film has all of its actors playing multiple roles in the past, present and future.
So what is it about?
It’s hard to say except it deals with the larger concepts of life. Concepts of love and hope and time and all the little unseen fibres that connect us with each other and with our past and our future.
Like most Wachowski movies, it’s a heady movie. They seem to derive a certain pleasure from twisting the audiences brains into knots while dazzlingly them with some of the most stunning visuals films have to offer and then some.
If done well Cloud Atlas will be a cerebral and visual experience. If they miss the mark, it could come of as mere cinematic indulgence.
But going by the trailer alone, it’s clearly a movie not to miss.
