PESHAWAR, Aug 30: Provincial Election Commissioner, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, S.M. Tariq on Wednesday announced that the final electoral rolls had been made public and were now available for correction. In a press statement here, Mr Tariq said that these electoral rolls had now been placed at the offices of Election Commission of Pakistan in each of the settled districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal agencies as well as in offices of assistant registration officers.

He said that it was responsibility of all citizens to check these lists and apply for correction in case of any error in their names or other information. He said that those applying for correction etc should fill the form available with the offices of ECP and submit the same along with a copy of their CNIC. The said form is also available on the commission’s website.

Mr Tariq said that the process of inclusion of voters, correction and objection would continue till announcement of schedule for general election. He said that verification of vote could also be done through cell phone.

The commissioner requested political parties, media and social welfare organisations to play their role in creating awareness of electoral rolls among people.

According to final electoral rolls, total registered voters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are 12.06 million, including 5.13 million female voters. Similarly, there are total 1.67 million registered voters in Federally Administered Tribal Areas, including and 555,231 female voters.
