ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik on Saturday said that Pakistan played a vital role in the war on terror and suffered a lot due to this problem.

Speaking to Pakistan Television (PTV), he said that economy of the country had badly affected while fighting the war.

He said that international community must recognise Pakistan's efforts and come forward for treating and helping Pakistan as a victim.

Malik said that more than 40,000 people had sacrificed their lives in this regard.

He hoped that the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit will provide a great assistance in resolving the regional issues.
