QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) here on Monday disqualified Provincial Minister for Industries Syed Ahsan Shah over possession of fake degree.

During proceedings of a case lodged by the National Party’s (NP) Dr Yaseen with the BHC, the two member bench comprising Justice Jamal Mandokhel and Justice Ghulam Mustafa Mengal declared Ahsan Shah disqualified.

The provincial minister contested elections in 2008 and won the Balochistan Assembly’s PB-48 Kech-I seat.

Earlier in August, former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Mir Zahoor Hussain Khosa was sentenced to two years in prison for possessing a fake degree by a district and sessions judge.

COMMENTS

  1. Strict legal action shoul be taken aginst the all Fake degree holders shameless Members.

  2. Isn’t it too early to disqualify him, lol

  3. Mere disqualification won’t be enough. To produce bogus degrees and become parliamentarians is a fraud of the first order. This person and those like him must go to jail. The voters must offer social boycott for defrauding and injuring their pride. I have yet to see or hear anybody taking it so seriously.
Remember, no body here in this western world is prepared to grant even visit visas or recognize the degrees of your Universities, despite the fact that all are not fake. As per the latest I.L.O. report youth unemployment is rising. Young graduates from countries like Greece, Spain, Italy, and even France are moving all around for jobs leaving behind their parents/dear ones. What about your young generation?

  4. Does having a degree judge a person’s capability? Granted that to remove the powerful who used their wealth but no knowledge of administration or dispensation of justice by Musharraf to a certain extent corrected the imbalance, but the question arises; are there not those without degrees far better than those who have? Some of the most successful businessmen have no degrees. This is the sort of people your country needs to help run your country.I have no idea who Syed Ahsan Shah is or his capability. I am making a general statement.

    • This is not the issue if aperson with degree is more qualified or not.the issue here is of fraud and dishonesty.

    • In the current situation, politicians with fake degrees are ALL feudal lords who have no shame or decency to think about the fellow countrymen. Although its absolutely true that alot of people all around the world are highly successful without having any formal education, but the current situation in Pakistan doesn’t follow that. We NEED to enforce the law that non-degree holders should not be allowed to enter politics. Then again, its not that tough to get a degree in Pakistan unfortunately.
