KARACHI, Sept 2: Interior Minister Rehman A. Malik said on Sunday that relations between Pakistan and India were improving in accordance with the wishes of the people of two countries.

Talking to reporters after meeting Syed Nazim Ali Nizami, the Sajjada Nasheen of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia, at the State Guest House here, he said important decisions were expected to be taken during Indian foreign minister’s upcoming visit to Pakistan to liberalise the issuance of visa for people.

Mr Malik said Pakistan would welcome the opening of an Indian visa office at its consulate in Karachi, adding the government knew that those intending to visit the neighbouring country from Karachi faced many problems.

He expressed the hope that the issue of visas between the two countries would be resolved soon.—APP
