LAHORE, Aug 3: The provincial review meeting of executive district officers (EDOs) of health has reiterated to ensure necessary measures, including procurement, monitoring, evaluation and accountability, to achieve child immunization targets.

The meeting was headed by Health Director-General Dr Nisar Ahmad Cheema wherein Extended Programme of Immunization (EPI) Manager Dr Tanveer, MNCH Programme Manager Dr Zafar Ikram, Health Sector Reforms Programme Manager Dr Amjad Shahzad, CDC Programme Manager Dr Mubashar Malik and Dr Jaffar Ilyas presented their achievements on targets of health programmes.

The meeting decided that funds allocated for the Punjab Millennium Development Goal would be spent on the procurement of medicine and medical equipments to provide safe normal delivery facilities in the remote areas of the districts.

It was decided that EDOs would randomly evaluate the EPI coverage in two union councils in every tehsil, assure active dengue larvae surveillance, prompt action to dengue case response and put in maximum efforts to make the people aware regarding the identification of potential dengue breeding sites and their removal.
