LAHORE, Sept 4: Panic gripped Samanabad late Monday night after two robbers snatched the purse of a woman and shot and wounded a youth who had dared to stop them near the locality’s main market.

According to some witnesses, the robbers on a bike snatched the purse of Salma who was walking along the main road. In the meantime a youth dared the muggers who opened fire and injured him critically.

Someone called police and Rescue 1122 who shifted injured Imran Shahid of Samanabad to the Services Hospital.

Samanabad SHO Asif Hayat said the youth suffered a bullet wound in his shoulder.

A duty officer at the police station said the injured victim was initially shifted to Services Hospital from where he was referred to the Lahore General Hospital.

The incident spread panic among the residents of the locality who expressed serious concerns over the law and order situation in Samanabad.
