BERLIN: Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Hina Rabbani Khar has said that Pakistan is the worst victim of the Afghan conflict, sacrificing upto 40,000 lives and suffering economic losses worth more than $1 billion, DawnNews reported on Tuesday.
While speaking at a lunch hosted by Germany’s Korber Foundation, Khar said that being a neighbour of Afghanistan, Pakistan has had to pay a huge price during the conflict in Afghanistan.
She added that the past three decade’s experience had proved that peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of the region especially in Pakistan’s interest and international cooperation was required to establish peace in Afghanistan.
While answering a question about US-Pakistan relations the foreign minister said that nine month after the Salala incident, relations between the two countries had normalised.
