LAHORE, Sept 4: A petition has been filed with the Supreme Court against possible sale of Gwadar Port’s shares to a Chinese company.
The Watan Party filed the petition at SC’s Lahore registry through Barrister Zafarullah Khan and stated that 60 per cent shares of Singapore Port Authority and 20 per cent shares of Adeel Karim Dhedi Group in Gwadar Port were likely to be sold to China Harbour Engineering Company.
He submitted that Gwadar Port’s shares were the property of people of Pakistan and could not be sold.
The petitioner prayed to the court that sale of the shares to China or any other country should be restrained.
QADHAFI STADIUM: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday directed a committee tasked with resolving a dispute of PCB’s office wall to submit its recommendations.
Earlier, a provincial law officer informed the court that the committee was preparing its recommendations and the dispute will be resolved soon.
At this the court adjourned hearing till Sept 17 and directed the committee to submit its recommendations. The court also directed the Gulberg TMO to appear on next hearing.
The Pakistan Cricket Board filed a petition saying that the city district government had demolished the boundary wall of board’s office. It said the government also arrested their employees and guards.
The board requested the court to stop the government from interfering in the matter and allow it to reconstruct the demolished wall.
