Wife dies as couple attempts suicide
September 8, 2012 by From the NewspaperMIRPURKHAS, Sept 7: A woman died while her husband was hospitalised for treatment in a critical condition after they tried to commit suicide by taking some medicines on Friday.
Officials said that 60-year-old Waris and his 50-year-old wife Zohra, residents of Pak Colony, were extremely poor and attempted to commit suicide.
Both were taken to the civil hospital in a serious condition where the woman died while her husband was referred to the Liaquat University Hospital due to his critical condition.
After medico-legal formalities, a brother of the deceased, Mehmood, received her body.
He told journalists that the couple had two young sons and a daughter. The sons were drug addicts and the daughter was married in Punjab, he added.—BoC
