KARAK, Sept 8: Three people were killed in separate incidents here the other day.

Police said that a dispute over sale of a motorcycle claimed two lives while two others sustained bullet injuries when two accused opened indiscriminate firing on a man.

They said that accused Hazratullah and Usmanullah, residents of Karidhand, opened indiscriminate fire on Amanullah Jan and killed him on the spot, while three passers-by also sustained critical injuries as a result of firing.

One of the injured Shah Zaibullah later succumbed to his injuries in tehsil headquarters hospital Takht-i-Nusrati. Doctors at the hospital said that Noshadullah and Karishma, 6, residents of Dhandi Wazir, were also in critical condition. One Fahmeedullah, a relative of the victim, registered an FIR in Takht-i-Nusrati police station against Hazratullah and Usmanullah.

Police said that in another incident a motorcycle hit a four-year-old child in Warana Mosakan area of Takht-i-Nusrati while he was playing on a roadside. The child was taken to district headquarters hospital, Karak, in serious condition, but he did not survive.

WORKERS SALARY: Employees of Sarhad Mineral Limited (SML) have demanded of Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) to help them in release of their salary withheld from last three months.

President of SML workers Maseehur Rehman told a press conference here on Friday that the SML was a subordinate institution of the PMDC working in Nari Panos area of Karak. He claimed that this was the biggest salt mine of the district run under the SML and alleged that the government wanted to close it, which would render hundreds of employees jobless.
