LAHORE, Sept 10: The city district government on Monday got registered around 100 criminal cases at various police stations against dozens of owners of factories, warehouses and tyre shops for violating the anti-dengue regulations.

The officials also got 30 of the violators arrested.

During separate visits by the DCO, additional district collectors (Revenue and General) and town municipal administrators, the officials also got sealed various factories and warehouses for having insufficient cleanliness arrangements on these premises.

DCO Noorul Amin Mengal visited various factories, junkyards, warehouses and tyre shops etc at Begum Kot, Shahdara, Saggian and Farakhabad and got eight FIRs registered against those violating the anti-dengue regulations and the CDGL instructions, besides sealing these premises.

Similarly, Nishtar Town Administrator (ADC general) Ms Musarrat Jabeen got four FIRs registered against the rule violators, besides issuing show-cause notice to a factory owner.

ADC (Revenue) Nadir Chattha got registered 61 FIRs and sealed 11 factories and warehouses in various localities of the city after dengue larva were detected there.

Data Ganj Bakhsh Town administration got registered eight FIRs, Ravi Town 10, Gulberg Town three, Shalimar Town one, Aziz Bhatti Town two and Allama Iqbal Town got two FIRs registered against as many factory owners over the same charges.

The Wagah Town administration also sealed three factories/warehouses in this regard.

“There will be no compromise, as we are passing through a very critical situation these days. So anyone found violating the anti-dengue regulations will be behind the bars,” Ms Musarrat Jabeen told Dawn.

On the other hand, Mr Mengal said in a statement that it was the right time to eliminate dengue by all means.

“For this purpose every segment of society should cooperate with the CDGL,” he added. — Staff Reporter
