Between frames: Lincoln

Published September 14, 2012

Holy Gettysburg Address, Mr. Lincoln!

Probably one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln looks every bit as Spielberg-esque as  you could imagine.

The film isn't the usual A to Z biopic, but focuses on Lincoln’s struggle to hold the country together as president and how he managed one of the great accomplishments of his era by abolishing slavery.

But let's be honest, the real story here is Daniel Day Lewis' performance.

There are actors who act well. There are actors who act really well. And then there are actors who morph into their characters to an almost genetic level.

Daniel Day Lewis has accomplished the latter in this role as he usually does.

They might as well wrap, seal and deliver the Oscar to his address right now.
